Speed test and Looking Glass — now right on the website

Before buying a server, it helps to know how your network reaches the location. Now you can check that without leaving the website: forestsnet.cloud has a speed test and a Looking Glass.
Speed test
The speed test measures your connection to our servers in Eygelshoven and Frankfurt in half a minute — right in the browser, with nothing to install.
- Ping, jitter, download and upload. Data flows over several streams, and the server itself counts the bytes — so the numbers are not inflated by the browser’s buffer.
- Ping under load. Shows whether the network lags while something downloads — which matters for games, calls and remote work.
- Route on a globe. Which cities and networks the traffic takes from the server to you, with internet exchanges and the latency of every segment.
- Rating for your task. A website or API, a game server, remote access, streaming, backups — we will tell you whether the location fits.
- Comparing locations. Run the test to both and see where the connection is better.
Looking Glass
The Looking Glass runs ping, traceroute and MTR from our location servers to any address — your provider, a website or a service, for example. Your IP is filled in by default, which shows the way back from our server to you.
It also has 100 MB and 1 GB test files and iperf3 commands to check the server from your side.
Both tools measure the path to our servers specifically, not to some random point on the internet: they show how your server would work at the chosen location.
Try them: the speed test and the Looking Glass.
